We didn't have much planned for this weekend. We only had one thing - we were going to go to the Fourth of July celebration at Sam Michaels Park. They were doing waterslides, a big moon bounce, a bunch of stuff for kids and then at 9pm they were going to shoot off fireworks. So around 6:30 we start getting stuff together (cause it takes a lot longer to get everything ready with a newborn!) And just as we were going to walk out to the dark, it got really dark outside and we checked the weather. Big storm coming. :( It got really windy and rainy like 10 min after we were going to leave. So it's good we didn't leave but then i felt bad because we'd been telling Stewart all week we were going to go and then we didnt go! But at least he's old enough to understand that we didn't go because of the weather. It rained for a while - it rained until about 9:15 so i just assumed they would reschedule the fireworks (i was hoping they were going to do it tonight) and then around 9:45 we started to hear the unmistakable boom boom boom of fireworks. And i could see them out of my bathroom window. So this makes the second cool thing that i've seen from the windows in my bathroom (late last year i saw a lunar eclipse while i was taking a bubble bath!)
Today I got Stewart a couple of goldfish to put in his fish bowl. Oh - and a snail. They were $.28. He's been really good and i wanted to get him a toy but these fish and the snail were sooo cheap. He picked out a really orange one and then a white one with a red spot on his head. And we got home, i let them sit in the bag for a while and then i dumped them in the bowl. And like an hour later, they were both dead (the snail is fine.) At first Stewart thought it was just the orange one because he was floating on top - and then i told him the white one was also dead and he got soooo upset. I think he cried for 15 minutes. I felt so bad for him. he didn't cry or get upset when we got rid of Yoshi - but this stupid white goldfish that we had for 60 minutes made him really upset.
Trying to cheer him up - i set up his slip and slide again, like we did last week at the bottom of the slide, and we got everything together, Bill took Parker down and as soon as i went outside it started raining. GEEZ! And then it thundered really loud - and we had to get everything together and go back inside.
I could tell that we spent a lot of this weekend cleaning. Unlike when i was home, i made it a point to do most of the laundry and cleaning during the week. If i could just make myself do a load of laundry in the evening. . . pipe dream. It will never happen. Well maybe not. I do have quite a bit of time before between when i get home and when Bill gets home. That's enough to get a load of laundry started. I'll add that to my list of things that I have to do in the evening. I have to get Parker's bottles ready for the next day. Get their clothes set out. Get my clothes set out. Give them a bath if it's bath day . . .eh.
