Dude - did i just do that!?

by Tracey 4/30/2009 9:19:00 PM

Ok - so i changed out our comforter - to a lighter an more summery look.  I had it folded up and put back in the bag and in the basement.  So when i got it out, it was all wrinkled.

I put pretty soft clean sheets on the bed and i flopped out the blanket and it looked like the skin of a 300 year old man.  So i did the  first thing you do when you have wrinkled fabric.  I plugged in the iron.  Before I knew it, I was ironing the comforter.  And what's worse, i didn't stop!  I ironed all of the wrinkles out of the top of the comforter.

Good lord.  When did I turn into freakin Martha Stewart!?  it's gotta be part of the freaking out I'm doing because I'm almost 30.  That has to be it - I wouldn't have ironed a comforter if I were in my right mind.

Kids have a high EQ

by Tracey 4/30/2009 9:27:00 AM

I think kids come with a built in ability to know when mom is pissed off or when mom needs an unsolicited hug.  Stewart has an incredible ability to just know things - he knows when i need a good laugh.  He is great about giving me hugs.  If he were tested, Stewart would have a really high EQ.  I'm not so sure about his IQ yet.  lol - he is smart but it seems like lately i have noticed that he is awesome about just knowing things.

Parker - yeah. I'm not so sure about him.  He is still very much a baby - but I'm wondering if he knew that I had had it last night and he was good this morning.  Usually, he sits in our bed and screams and cries while we shower and get ready for work.  Which is totally and completely hate.  He didn't do it before and now all of the sudden he feels like he needs to do it.  I think it is a terrible way to start off a day - rushing around while being serenaded by a loud screaming baby.

So this morning, he didn't cry or anything.  It makes me wonder if he just knew that mommy couldn't handle that after all of the screaming he did last night.

He is lucky he is cute.

What the hell happened?

by Tracey 4/29/2009 8:29:00 PM
So much for the nights of awesome sleep.  Parker is right back to where we started.  As i write, he is screaming in his crib - refusing a bottle, refusing to lay down.  All he wants to do is stand in his crib screaming and crying.  And he's really freakin loud.  I wish he would hurry up and get over this phase because I am almost completely out of patience.  He wants to scream and cry unless he's being held.  i know he is in there standing and screaming in his crib, wanting us to come get him and hold him until he falls asleep.  Which is all fine and good in a perfect world where we don't have homework, Stewart doesn't have homework, no one needs to cook dinner or do the dishes or clean or do laundry.  I could sit on my ass and hold him all day if I didn't have other things that needed to be done.  At this very moment, he is driving me crazy and I want to stand up in my crib and scream at the top of my lungs.

More playtime

Stewart's "beach."  This box of sand is going to have to hold him over until it gets warmer and we get our cold hineys to a real beach!
